Castilleja — Indian Paintbrush
The Indian Paintbrush is one of my favorite wildflowers that I look for every year. Castilleja, commonly known as Indian paintbrush or prairie-fire, is a genus of about 200 species of annual and perennial herbaceous plants native. The local Indian paintbrushes are usually a dark orange to orange red. This was taken at Mt Vernon Prairie in Missouri
