Prairie SpiderwortBuds 0879 Tradescantia ohiensis
The spiderwort is a fascinating wildflower. The leaves come off the bloom often in an interesting fashion but the flower buds to me are what capture my interest. The are big clumps with reddish stems going in every direction. This spiderwort photo was taken at Mt Vernon Prairie in Missouri.
